What are in These Frozen Dog Treats?
Before we move on to the dog treat, let’s talk about the ingredients and why they are beneficial for your dog.
Blueberries
These little blue treats are jam packed with minerals, vitamins, fiber, and antioxidants, plus they are low in calories. Blueberries can help boost your dog’s immune system, they can also help fight cancer and aging in the brain.
With all things, blueberries should be given to your dog in moderation. They are high in fiber and if your pooch eats to many of them, they may get diarrhea.
Plain Greek Yogurt
Plain Greek yogurt is extensively strained to reduce the sugar and lactose levels. Greek yogurt is high in calcium and protein which can help with your dog’s bone health. It also contains probiotics. This helps your canine’s digestive track to stay healthy.
Plain Greek yogurt is beneficial for dogs in moderation. Check the ingredient list to make sure Xylitol is not in the yogurt, as it is lethal to dogs. Some dogs are lactose intolerant which can cause loose stool.
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil contains anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. This can help aid in digestion, as well as improve mental function in older dogs.
Disclaimer: These are treats, not meal replacements. If you are uncomfortable including any of the ingredients, you can substitute it for something else. Consult your veterinarian if you have any questions or concerns about these ingredients before feeding it to your dog. Remember moderation is important.
